Visit Japan Web Churaumi Aquarium

Visit Japan Web invites you to explore the Churaumi Aquarium. It is widely regarded as the best aquarium in Japan. It serves as the primary attraction of the Ocean Expo Park in northern Okinawa Honto. The aquarium underwent a complete redesign and reopened in 2002.
A visit to the Churaumi Aquarium is highlighted by the enormous Kuroshio Tank. This tank is named after the warm Kuroshio current. It significantly contributes to the diverse marine life found in Okinawa. It houses a wide variety of species, with the most impressive being the giant whale sharks and manta rays.
The aquarium is located across three levels. The entrance is on the third floor and the exit is on the first floor. Immediately after entering, there is a pool where guests can interact with live starfish and seashells. Following this, there is a tank showcasing the world’s first large-scale exhibit of living coral. The route then takes visitors past the Kuroshio Tank, which is likely to captivate their attention for an extended period. There are twice daily feeding shows held here, and adjacent to this tank is a high-definition movie theater featuring Okinawa’s marine life.
Beyond the Kuroshio Tank, there are additional captivating tanks and displays. There’s also a section dedicated to sharks housing live tiger sharks and bull sharks. An area dedicated to marine life in the deep waters of Okinawa features displays of bioluminescent fish.
Adjacent to the main aquarium building, there are outdoor pools near the waterfront. Performances feature dolphins, sea turtles and manatees are free of charge.
