Visit Japan Web Cup Noodles Museum

Visit Japan Web invites you to explore the Cup Noodles Museum, an engaging and interactive museum located in Yokohama’s Minato Mirai District. It showcases the history of instant ramen noodles through a delightful combination of exhibits and hands-on workshops. Established by the Nissin Food company, the museum pays homage to the founder who invented instant ramen noodles in 1958 as a quick and convenient dining option. This museum, the second of its kind in Japan, follows the Cupnoodles Museum in Ikeda, situated north of Osaka.
Visitors can enjoy a brief film detailing the history of instant noodles and explore unconventional exhibits, including a replica of the shed where instant noodles were first created, and a visual timeline showcasing instant noodle products from around the globe. Additionally, the museum features a modest collection of modern art pieces that symbolize Nissin’s commitment to producing innovative products such as cup noodles and space ramen designed for astronauts.
The museum offers a range of activities, including the popular My Cupnoodles Factory workshop where visitors can create their own cup noodle by choosing from a variety of soup flavors and toppings for a fee of 500 yen, with the possibility of it being sold out on busy days. Additionally, there is the My Chicken Ramen workshop where participants can make their own instant ramen noodles, package them, and take them home for a cost of 600 yen, requiring advanced reservations and lasting approximately 90 minutes.
The museum also features the Cupnoodles Park children’s playground, modeled after a noodle factory, for an admission fee of 500 yen, and the entertaining Noodles Bazaar food court, offering a variety of noodle dishes and canned drinks from around the world at a price of 500 yen per dish, allowing visitors to sample different flavors.
