The most picturesque route to Itoshima from Fukuoka is along the coastline, with the road weaving in and out of the bays.

It hosts several well-known cafes, including Hinode, a local favorite serving tacos topped with locally grown vegetables at reasonable prices.

The smooth roads, expansive plains, and picturesque landscapes transform the peninsula into a haven for cyclists. The roads are often bustling with cyclists of all levels, from casual enthusiasts to competitive athletes.

Moving away from the coastline towards the inland, the terrain ascends steeply to mountains towering over 1,000 meters. A remarkable trek leads to the summit of Raizan. The Raizansennyoji Taihioin Temple is a must-visit, adorned with majestic trees that create picturesque scenery.

Shiraito Falls is a renowned waterfall where visitors can partake in the Japanese summer tradition of nagashi-somen. There are also small pools with fish for children to catch and various hiking paths branching out from the waterfall.
